need urgent help...with noob query about mapping node

hi

i am stuck on this for over 2 hours now, and i can’t seem to figure it out. and unfortunately the docs didn’t help much either.

i marked the image in three colors…

yellow > yellow
red > red
what and why is that green part?

and the mapping node marked red wont do anything… the green one does it transforms…but i can not animate any of those parameters.

i just need to animate the offset the texture.

can anyone point me to the mistake i am making (or not looking at the right place)

thanks a ton in advance.
m.

PS: i am almost totally noob in blender

You should be able to offset a texture and animate with the mapping node (in Red). Try the Location X & Y slider.
If that doesn’t work there would be some other problem.

i know that part. and what you just said is exactly how it should work. but it doesn’t. only the green marked area is able to do it.

Additional info: the texture is mapped on a material which is applied to a vertex group (i mean the object has two materials applied to parts of the object) this is about one of them.

Can you upload the file so we can check it out?

Works for me. Frames 8 and 21 in the shot

Are you keying the sliders? By hovering over the appropriate slider and hitting the I key? If you look at Ja12’s image you can see the x location has keys. Indicated by the green highlight. I don’t see that or anything in your timeline to indicate that the change in value is actually keyed.

Do you have more than one UV mapping for the object? Just a thought.
