Negative Frames?

Wow, they really jazzed up this place. Came as quite a shock to me the first few moments.

Anyway, I’ve been wondering about something for a long time and I think making this post will benefit me. In the Action editor window, what are the negative frames for? Do they mean anything?

Thank you.

In general, negative frames have one particular use: to enable animations to “set them selves up”. An example of this might be if you wanted a comet’s ice trail to already lag behind at the start of the animation. You could start the comet’s motion and particles before the animation even started!

As for how this applies to actions, I don’t know. I suppose they might be related to simple keyframed IPOs (for use without NLA).
