Neon in Blender

Hello! So I’m doing a project with a neon sign, and in order to achieve this I found a nice font online and was following the Blender Guru neon tutorial, but using font instead of curves. In the tutorial, it uses dupframes to achieve spot lights on each point of the curve which makes the letter, but as much as I mess around with the settings, I can’t get the spotlights to go around the outline of my text in a similar way. Do you guys know an alternative way of doing neon, or how to achieve this with text? I haven’t touched Blender in a few years, so I’m a bit rusty. Thanks!

Depends on how realistic you want the end result. I’ve pulled off neon simply by having bevelled curves of a material where the emit value was set to 1.
