nested transparency

I was just playing arround with transperent object, I put one transparent cyllinder inside another.

The inner cyllinder doesn’t appear to be transparent? It also casts a noticable shadow. How can I get something like this to work? It’s the central cloumn in the image that I’m talking about.


Well, to put it simply: increase the raytransp depth for the outer cylinder for the TARDIS’s console and it should show up right. Then turn off shadow and that should do it.


For any object that will receive shadows from the rotor cylinder, make sure you set TraShadow in the Shaders panel so it recieves transparent shadows.
