(NEW blog!) List of free texture sites

Updated added Archive textures

Blender Texture Pack and 125x125 (low res) texture pack

I hate commercializing and showcasing my own work (not to mention those contributing artists), but I thought it might be of use here.

No, it’s fine!
That’s what this thread is for!

Added that

sorry i dont have any but how do u use these things…theyre all .RAR files and .MXM!!! it makes no sense!!!

Sheesh, you got all my bookmarks. I’ll bookmark this instead then. Are those links free for commercial uses?

First of all you have to register, then you can download, and to use the files…
use this program, it unzips 7zip files.
Some of the materials might only work with Maxwell, because they are .mxm files, but the textures should just be images in the folder somewhere.

You have to look at all the individual sites and see their licenses.
But all of them are free.

http://www.3delyvisions.com/skf1.htm — for your skybox. Social found it if I’m not mistaken. Thanks for the list.

Added that.

Sweet, this list is really growing!

I rechecked my bookmarks and found out that both http://www.absolutecross.com/graphics/textures/ and http://www.texturewarehouse.com/gallery/index.php were not on your list.

Added those also.

Small GFX

Thanks photoguy, some great sites there, really helped me out.

Just want to know, do you have any idea how to convert Maxwell Render Materials into regular flat plane texture jpegs? Not all materials include that preview, but the materials are of way too good quality to pass up. Wish they previewed like filterforge. Thanks!

Most every material includes the original image textures (.jpg .png ect…)
That is where I get most of my textures actually.
Hope that helps, let me know if you need more help.

Update, moved to a blog.
