The OP really needs to clean up his list, removing dead links and adding new ones which were suggested here, or this thread wouldn’t make much sense to be stickied.
I’d like to present new textures repository their number is growing very fast, everyday there are new free textures so please visit it one a month for some fresh stuff. The new free CG texture site is Texturify.com. Please spread it out, share and post on your blog.
Hey, I’d like to recommend a new website with 2500+ free textures: http://texturelabs.org
You can find a lot of categories and sets in it, like Tuscany Doors, Tuscany Buildings, Tuscany Churches and more other things. Check it out!
Pixar generously released a “classic” texture pack with more than a hundred 1024x quality ones, each of those texture comes with their corresponding bump and normal maps, and all those textures are tile-able :
All those textures are under this license :
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
There’s a new website I’ve created that is and will be focused around only free textures and images created by me (without requiring attribution for commercial or non commercial usage). Some seamless, some not, many in 2048x2048 resolution. The available pool of textures will grow over time.
You could add it if you like, it is http://photofree.ga
Thanks!
Found this in another recent thread:
Old, but some in this free package may be useful to some.
It would be nice if the links can be sorted according to categories like.
-Free for non-commercial use only
-Free for commercial use
-Free for commercial use, but cannot be distributed via an open project or file
-ect…
Right now it’s just a list of anything that pops up in this thread and you have to go to each site to find out whether it has a catch.
A lot of the links in the first post are either dead, or just links to unrelated ads. I think the OP needs to go through and update the list.
Thank you very much! I would love to test them, but the download links don’t seem to be working?
Thanks, this is a great thread, very useful!
BTW, we also have a selection of free Pro-Viz textures & cutout images on our site:
