Are you guys and gals sick of seeing Camaro models yet?
I had a thread about this a LONG time ago, but I thought it best to start a new one since it is buried.
So far this is my most complex model. I have found a lot of resouces online about this particular car, so I thought I would give it a shot. I am having a lot of trouble with the front and rear grill/bumper areas. I seem to have a lot of vertices where they shouldn’t be and they end up looking like triangles in the render. But there aren’t any triangles in the model, they are all 4 sided faces.
You cannot make a realistic looking car without subsurf or or at least without smoothing.
If those triangle looking quads are your only problem, subsurf and/or smoothing should resolve that.
If you want critique on mesh structure, post an edit mode screenshot.
Exactly. I wanted to do one because there is a lot of reference material, as stated in my first post. I was just looking for help with my particular model. This is my first car model and I thought this would be a good place to ask for some help.
Update: A much better looking model with the subsurf modifier. Have been playing around with the weighted creases to get the correct hard edges for the car.
