I find a increasing number of distasteful conversations going on in #blenderchat ( is this IRC channel not for talk about modeling/animating ?) seeming to undermine a resourceful community supposedly with goals of helping others use a quality product,- but having to deal with talk of sharing girlfriend naked pictures/pron and allowing spam/sex BOTS to exist and cause mahem.
I therefore am starting my own channel at: #blender
feel free to stop over ONLY if you are serious about NOT talking about pron(porn) or blood and crossbows and guns and idiotic stuff like that…your right to discuss those things ( apparantly) starts in #blenderchat but ends in #blender as this channel will only allow decent 3D chat for those serious about same…
I mean no offense to anyone as its a free country and you may discuss anything you wish , I just find it disgusting and am electing to do something about it as I do not wish to partake of such a vile community of uses.
Why not just use #blenderQA ? It is dedicated to Blender only discussions. If there are too many forums, you tend to get too few users visiting, and then people tend to get annoyed if they don’t get a quick response to their question and leave.
I did not know about this channel…I’ll look into it /try it but I also want to let others know that #blender will NEVER allow anything but decent specific blender conversation…not nerdy to point of never being able to laugh or joke but no idiotic kindergarden stuff either…
Although I agree with you somewhat, I think you’re exaggerating. The situation in #BlenderChat is not that bad. I have not seen any bots in #BlenderChat lately, and the conversations are about Blender most of the time.
Also I think your channel will probably be a failure, not your fault, it’s just that that’s the way it’s usually happened before. For a while there were two separate official channels, one for general chatting and one for just Blender talk (#BlenderQA), but #BlenderQA just pretty much stopped being used.

yes,its that bad I am proof of it and I have ‘logs’ to prove it so you are simply incorrect.
…of course its about blender alot of the time but the inbetween times are also filled with a bunch of nonsense about violence/guns/blood/pron which is flat ridiculous for ANY irc channel of any merit whatsoever.
while i’m grateful for your apparant indication/warning about the imminent failure of my channel , its no risk but its a win win for blenders users who are serious about using blender as its a guarantee they’ll never have to deal with the stupidity I"ve seen on #blenderchat. Its a quality product and never should have to be seen in such a light.
I urge those wishing for a quality experience to come try out #blender for all your blender needs.
