hi all
heres some screenshots fom a simple blender game im making
its normally viewed from a third person perspective but the character im temporarily using is the girl from from hitachi’s “gorilla and girl” example (im too lazy to do my own yet) so i thought id better leave her out of my screenshots.
aiming for an adventure/puzzle/exploration type game
feedback most welcome
cheers

looks cool so far, hints:
-some textures look “tiled”, use gimp or smth. to make them seamless
-the sky bites a bit
-using alpha/add faces costs a lot of computing time
and spend some time for uv mapping so that (i.e. in the last pic) the objects do not look like “dressed cubes”.
greets
Looks good so far, the textures and UV mapping need a little work, but the scenes show good composition.
Using alpha faces is less costly than reproducing the same detail with more faces.

Nice, though my first thoughts were about the much use of add textures…use too many, and it will seem like your plants are glowing :o

Nice screenshots, but need some more things:
chance the sky a bit, like lighter blue, more look like real skies.
some mist for zwamp feelings.
I think these things make it more cooler and feeling like a real adventure.
But these things are just some ideas.

thanks for the feedback guys
textures etc are definately just “thrown on” at the moment - hopefully look at replacing them once the rest of the gameplay etc is sorted out now.
Ive used “add” as a substitute for the funny bug with overlaying alpha textures and yes - it makes my plants glow…
just playing around with day/night/mist effects from some of the suggestions on this forum so I’ll try to post up some more screenshots as I progress.
cheers all
