new german GamePython Tutorial - Basics

Hallo Friends.
My new Tutorial is out! It’s german, i know, but maybe one ore two Guys here can read it nevertheless. (We don’t have much Tuts in our Language.)
This Tutorial is the 1st Part of 2. It tries to explain the Beginning in Python, the Basic handling and using it in Blenders GameEngine. With this, i will give a helping Hand to all Beginners. I hope it is usefull.

Part 2 will be a complete Game Concept, realized in Python an the BGE. (Not a huge Game, but enough to explain.)

I’m not in Town the next Weeks or Month. So it can take a While.
Thanx to all Helpers. Have Fun!
Doc

Edit …
I’ve uplodet the Demo-File for the upcoming Part2. “Tower of Hanoi” A good Example to explain Python, i think. And a good Demo to explore how it works. Have Fun!

It would be nice if i could read it…

Google Translator (or any other online translator for that matter) can give you a rough idea of what it means.

Python is already hard enough for me. Add a translator and you got me with my tongue twisted.

Dankeschoen , I needed something like that. Let’s see when i have the time for the shader tut which we have discussed.

In relation to software development:

  • English - Cross platform
  • German - FreeBSD only

@Social:
Maybe someone speaks german (~100mio)
and there is a big community on blendpolis.org
but ofcourse it’s the choice of writer.

now Social’s a good guy, he didn’t mean anything by it Mr. 1 post ever

@ Social-Actually (yes, these are english forums, but still…) it would probably be more like:
English -> Windows (not everyone speaks English- it’s just more common. Think of people who speak multiple languages as running a dual-boot)
And I know how much people complain when people post .exe’s alone…

@Doc-While I can’t read German, It’s never a bad thing to have tutorials in more languages- if someone who primarily speaks German comes along, I’m sure they’ll be quite pleased.

very nice doc holiday, I can hardly read it but it looks pretty complete, I’m sure you would be able to translate it to English pretty easily. As for the fact that its in German if your first language is German then it only makes sense that you did it in German and those who complain should rather spend their time learning German.

I forgot that the title box always makes text 5X as big, makes it seem like the person writing is angry/frustrated/screaming.

Anyway, I’m just stating the fact that people who visit the net are (by a great majority) people who know english quite well (regardless of what their native language may be).

I have nothing against it being written in german (or any other language for that matter), but not having an english version right off the bat puts big limits on documentation. This is especially true when you post stuff on blenderartists, where the language used is english.

Taking all of that in account, there is really no point in posting a “german only” document in the game engine forums.

Or at least, that’s the way I see it.

i disagree i’m not scared of babelfish keep 'em coming doc

lol but a pdf kind of kills that option here. Oh well

lol

German is my Mother Language. So i naturally write german. It’s hard for me to read/write in english. I’ve Babylon Translator running nearby to translate Keywords. So i can communicate in a english Forum. Slow, but it works. And the only Way for me to understand nearly what You say.

If You look at my Page and look to the Files, you will notice that i always try to support my english speaking Blender Friends.

If You want to read my Documents, you have some Choices:

  • learn german
  • find someone who translate it for you
  • find a Way to translate it Yourself
  • leave itI’m just posting here for People who can read it. Maybe there are some, i don’t know. And maybe one of them is willing to translate. If so, please mail me, or send a PM. But this Option always exits, no need to say.

@all
Thanks for your comments. The Demo-File for the upcomming Part2 ist also available now. Try it.

Hey Doc! It is a long time since the last time i saw you over here!

Nice to see you again. A tutorial is always nice! The language Doesn’t matters.

Of course it would be great if you post a lot of figures, this will probalbly make it easy to follow for those that doesn’t know German.

I would like to ask you another favor: If it is possible include an English version of the script itself.

Thanks a lot,

ChicO

I don’t think that last option will help much with the reading of the documents situ… j/k:o
