Everything Toven, the red wire makes a T.

It’s for the electronics section of my website, everything Toven.

where the red wires cross i would lower that about 1/2"

let the “t” in everything be ink use the red wire
primarily for the T in Toven(since it a capital letter)

I agree with holyenigma, the aim of a logo is to get the idea and name across quickly, if the consumer has to look at it to work it out, the logo needs simplifying. I think if the red wires made just the T for toven I think you’d have a pretty neat logo.
Also, I’m not much of an electrics person, but is there supposed to be some sort of wire inside the plastic bit? I’m probably wrong though!

I have never seen LEDs that big. Although it probably needed to be exagerated to fill in the scene.

Also, you mentioned that this will be the logo for your website - I’m curious as to how you’ll be fitting this render into the space for a logo. Could you post a link?

It’s a cool concept, and I like the materials and such. Couple of comments though - Isn’t there a diode inside a light-emitting diode? It looks like you just have a glass bead with a couple of pins sticking out (good job on the materials, btw). Also, to my eyes, the table has too much bump mapping. I would tone it down just a tad, even though it’s a cool effect. I think it’s just a bit too much to seem real. If you’re going for a workbench look, then I would use a weathered wood, and kill the reflectivity, while keeping the bump map high. Just a thought.

For your LED material, try adding a mix node, then mix your glass with translucent, and make the glass surface a little rougher. Experiment with the mix value.

If in that section youre going to talk about electronics(components, etc), instead of the wood table you can use as background a pcb layout or similar; just one of thousand ideas.

I added some more electronic gismos… I used a mesh from blend swap… All the materials are my own work.

Hm, 4160 ohms? It’s been a while since I used the color codes.

I like the scene, I’m just not sure if it works as a logo really. I mean it looks great, but a logo is usually supposed to be pretty simple. The modelling looks good, the only thing I would suggest is maybe some subtle texturing to the surface of the chip. It just looks a bit too smooth…Needs perhaps a tiny bit of bump.

I think Enos is right. You could pass a noise texture into the displacement value.

There are a number of issues with this design that make it a poor choice for a logo. Generally, photographic designs don’t work as well as simpler vector graphics because readability is key. However, that being said, it’s not impossible to use a 3d render for a logo design.

Here’s what I think you could do to improve the logo:

  1. Lose the hand written lettering. It’s messy and it doesn’t have any style or panache.
  2. The electronic components are pretty good, but they’re not really incorporated into a design, just thrown on a table.
  3. I think a stronger logo design would be to create the letters out of the electronic components and on a white background, instead of a table top. This type of logo would be more versatile, as right now you basically have a photograph to use as a logo…
