New Mesh's won't display :-s

Hey,

I have been developing a model in blender based on a cube mesh, which I have transformed into a robot.

If I click Add-> Mesh -> Cube to create a new mesh next to my robot mesh, the mesh is added to the 3D view but I can’t see it at all! This is the same for any type of mesh or NURB. The only reason why I know it exists is that within the outline panel I can see the mesh description status with visibility ON.

Any idea how to solve this problem? I probably done something wrong somewhere. I’m using Blender 2.49b and haven’t had this problem before

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Shift+C to re-centre the 3d curser. This is where new objects are added. If its location is out of camera view you won’t see any new objects when they are added.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply!

I had already tried what you suggested, however I think I may have found something.

If I click my robot mesh (which is always visible), go into Edit mode and add a new mesh - it works! However Idon’t want this to be part of the existing object, therefore I want to create a mesh in object mode to create a mesh independent of my robot mesh. Why won’t this mesh display (still displays only in outline panel)

You may be in local view ‘Numpad /’ or from View menu
If doesn’t work post a link to your blend file.

That worked! Thanks for your help!!!
