Is this for in a game might I ask?
Yup, these are all for games.
what is it?

what’s so special about this model?
oh, cool! someone finally made a “five-minute work” topic…or no wait…wrong thread…
al_capone: one word to describe it - SAD. looking at it makes me cry. i cant believe you actually posted that. uh…what’re you saying? - there’s the hidden camera? - that was a good one! i almost fell for it!
edit: isnt this in the wrong forum?
What is it ? It’s a Fleur de Lis Sconce, those that don’t know it’s french and blendermax, why don’t you download the model and look at it, before you make your assumption on a 2d image.
blendermax…relax…
its a low poly model for a game. Nothing “special” about it sure but I don’t see that as a requirement anywhere for posting work. Sure its not really in the right forum (finished projects as opposed to news - and Al_Capone, no offense but its not news when you finish something) but that doesn’t mean everyone has to bite his head off.
well, I probaly made a misjudgement in the topic, but I go post it in the project page instead. I really ment it to be news that it’s available for download.
sorry, al, but from the render it looks bad enough…seeing the 3d model would only make it worse.

It’s clear you don’t know what it is.

It’s also clear you have no idea what you’re doing. and you have no sense of appropriateness either. open your eyes and look at it. what do you see? something that anybody with basic knowledge of blender could pull off in about five minutes, including the time you need to come up with the idea.
hey, this forum is open for anyone.
newbies, moderate users, advanced, professionals.
so, is it part of a fence, or… something you put your candle into?
and what kind of a game this is going to be… blendergame?
and… I wouldn’t mind too much of blendermax’s comments. he is always like that.

i wouldnt mind if there were a genuine reason for downloading it, or if it were genuine hard work. al has been using blender for quite a while now, and showing lousy models that he expects people to download and use (im assuming thats the point, why else would he have uploaded it?) isnt gonna cut it. the model has serious flaws besides the fact that it looks like it was done in five minutes (as i pointed out a few times already), such as a really simple thing as omitting to press the “smooth” button. level of detail is also rather low, which you can (hopefully) see by just looking at it.
You hit it right on the nose, it’s a candle holder and for blenderdick information it was done in CAD not Blender. Its not for anytype of game it’s for anyone who wish to use it in a game.
Hey hey now…Blendermax may be out of line thrashing you, but you don’t need to resort to name calling.

It’s an insult one way or the other.
Uhh…no kidding. I’m saying don’t do it.
sorry man, i thought the first picture you showed was the actual pic you wanted to show off… sorry.
- uh…
tip: if you want to make the model more usable, atleast add a texture. shouldnt be too hard given you have reference at your disposal (which you do - the photo).
But I don’t want an iron candle holder. I want one made of cheese. I say leave it untextured.
