new pc....

I’ve been looking around for a new pc, and in pcmag there was an ad http://www.am-comps.com for professional level starting at $660! I had to see it to believe it; the systems don’t come with a monitor standard, you have to configure it to have it, etc; the total as I configured it was ~$1000, which I think is pretty good. right? should I keep looking? Boxx systems look really good but are a bit too pricey!

NOOOOOOOO

thats a bad system!!!

it has Nothing, its pretty old unless you upgrade it heaps then you will be paying more than its worth.

if you did choose to get it do this. (at minimum, and it doesn’t include an OS or software, also what parts do you already have in your current computer, i took out the floppy drive because you don’t need them nowdays (well i’ve never used mine))

it cost $937.20 without a monitor BTW (and i think you could get better for the price)

of course i didn’t put a keyboard and mouse with it but those are a few dollars.

but this computer here would kick the pants off the other one!!!

tell me your budget and i could probably choose one of the better balenced machines for that price.

because its not the speed of the processor that makes the difference its the combination between.

CPU
MEMORY
HARD DRIVE
and the most importnat factor in a computers speed the MOTHERBOARD.

my budget is ~$1000, give or take ~$100. I’ve also seen the Sony vaio(~$1300), but I’ve had bad experiences with Sony products :(.

You can get a brand new one for 600 with Tiger Direct, heck I got a barebone for 40, but the best one is probaly Lindows for 200.

I think I’ll give am-comp a try, if I don’t like it I’ll return it; after all it’s still better than what I have now

make sure you customise it up a bit, currently on the default its pretty bad, but if you customise it up to about what i said then its actually pretty good.

Thanks altaken. I’ll custumize it, btw I do use the good old floppy
