The movie looks like it’s progressing well but I’m disappointed at the appearance. Too much bloom IMO, like Elephants Dream. The people have the same look too. The indoors shot looks nice with them all around the laptop (motion blur looks good) but outdoors and on the receptionist, the skin looks a bit odd.
Some aliasing there too (bird in the first picture) - is Blender internal being used for this?
I can’t imagine what the story is. People who look like agent smiths in a big building and birds? It’ll be interesting to see where that goes. Thanks for keeping us updated with the project. Is there a planned release date or is it more of a ‘it’s finished when it’s finished’ deal? What is the current project status?
I think it looks wonderful.
Do they plan for release in the US? Will there be an English version?

This is really superb
The shots are great, but I do think the logo / title image of the project could use a serious touch-up because it does not look as nice as the frames they’re pasted on.
The bird doesn’t even resemble the bird in the movie.
Anyway, good stuff And bloom is a good thing! (Y)

There is some very noticable aliasings in the image, and I can only imagine the animated version will be far worse. Please crank up AA
The bird could also use some light fur for the added ‘softness’
It does look good. Not quite Pixar quality, but better than what I saw of Jimmy Neutron.
If the story’s there, it could do well.

A few answers:
AA issues show up because of the low res of these sample renders.
Animation deadline is end of july 2007, then a couple months to finish shading/lighting/postpro of all shots, and we’re done. Sounds easy right ?

oh no … this stupid bloom effect yet again.
So, when you say ‘stupid’ you’re saying this as a guy who hasn’t made more than 65 posts in 2 years and has no art or anything of value to show anywhere. Yes, by the way, I did check your site, and a couple dozen abstract, anatomy-less androgynies does not a portfolio make.

EDIT: Actually, I mean this less as a defensive flame and personal attack as I do more mean ‘think before you say randomly dismiss years of work better than you’ve ever done as ‘stupid’’. I do in fact agree that the bloom effect can be distracting sometimes, but still, dude.
