Hey, I just downloaded Blender and I’ve been messing around with it. I have no technical knowledge and minimal computer knowledge…anyway, I’m currently working on the Gingerbread Man tutorial on the Blender website and I’m having some trouble. I have 10 spheres of varying sizes on the characters body. The body has been textured and colored no problem…now I’m working on the eyes (making chocolate) and I would like to make the smile and buttons different colors. I can make the colors and textures no problem, however, somehow all spheres are grouped. When I click or manipulate one, all the spheres are selected…when I try to color or texture change one, all change…any help would be greatly appreciated…I’d like to get better at Blender but this little porlbem is holding me up…additionally, the body and button spheres are parented, moving as one…that’s all I’ve done and I eagerly await some help…thanks
You may have added the new spheres while still in edit mode - this is the mode where it lights up orange and you can select parts of the mesh like edges and faces. When you do this, it adds the primitives as part of the original object, so they’re all “grouped” together. To fix this, just make sure you’re in object mode by pressing “TAB” before adding any objects to the scene.
Thank you, I’ll try that
