Hey, I am new to blender, the more I see the more I like. Unfortunately though I am having trouble learning how to use it. I have tried the maunual and tutorials but they all seem to assume I have basics. I don’t, anyone know of a good tutorial that can give me the jumpstart I need? Also, if anyone wants to help me, we could work together via aim or vnc…Thanks in advance
Hey welcome to Blender, Ace! The topic at the very top of this forum has a huge list of online tutorials (https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4624). Just look for some tutorials that mention “Blender Basics” or something of that nature. Good luck, and stick with it!
AHA! I’ve got it, I’ve reached the blender threshold of understanding. What I mean is, at first nothing made sense, I was just taking in info, then bam I understood it! Now I can use blender, sort of, my models suck but htey exist, now I can practice and learn more. Thnaks guys, especially you bulletdodga, it the tutorials on your site I was learning from when it hit me like a ton of blended bricks! Thanks guys, I hoep to see more of you and your blends.

Hmm, smoothies, hehe unfortunately my blender skills aren’t enought to mix smoothies.
But I did make this, a castle, I used the blender castle tutorial, no texturing yet, but wow this program is actually understandable. It doesn’t look exactly the same and isn’t as good but for my first blend, I thought I did well What do you think?
Dale, I wanted to thank you very much for the basic training zip. In the last couple of weeks I’ve made a psychological commitment to learn blender. I’m very excited but being the old codger that I am I couldn’t get a handle on it with many of the tutorials–then I found your post in this thread. Bingo! I’m having fun! The entire format was exactly what I was looking for. Plus, you did an excellent job of communicating the concepts. Please be encouraged to continue such informative helps in that format. If there are any other carefully presented such helps, please let me know. Again, much thanks.
