New to the forums - Some questions

Hi there, ho, and happy day! (For those of you who know what that’s from, sorry, I couldn’t resist :P)

I’ve been hanging around the site for about a year now, watching the WIP/Finished Projects forums, and being simply amazed at the amount of talent here. Very astounding work, guys.

What drove me to finally register is this: I’m wanting to know more!

I’ve tried to find a good source of reference for the game engine and such, but everything is just so scattered and hard to follow. I tried the official Blender Wiki, but the section on the game engine is completely empty! Other sites offer little bits of information, but it’s not very well organized. Where can I find a good, organized, in-depth source of information on the game engine?

Second, why is there not a single, central gallery for all the rendered images, videos, and other applications that the Blender community creates? I’ve seen the featured work on http://www.blender3d.org/, but I know there’s more. Where is it?

And third, I would like to challenge everyone, as a totally unbiased outsider, to take part in the wiki project linked above. You all know a lot, so why hold back? Share the knowledge!

Thanks for everything. You guys are all amazing, so keep up the awesome work!

I’m new myself, but I welcome you to the forums

With each blender release having so many new things, the documentation can hardly follow, the game engine especially, since it’s not as popular as other parts of blender (modeling, animating etc). Official Blender wiki is still incomplete as it was created not long ago and it’s missing quite some stuff.

The devs are aware of the insufficient documentation problem and are already working on sollutions.

As I understand http://www.blenderartists.org/ is elysiun’s website and might evolve into a main blender art site.

Uh, I’m still in a position where I learn from the wiki, not actually write it.
