I’ve downloaded zips of OBJ and 3ds files and I am having trouble opening them. If I open the zip in the normal way, it will open up blender, but only to the default screen. I have checked the boxes for importing these things in the user preferences.
When I search for them manually through Blenders directory, they don’t appear. I guess this is because the are in the form of zip files? I don’t know how to extract zip files on windows 10. Doesn’t seem to be an option. Sorry, I may be revealing how bad I am with all this stuff.
Thanks for your response. And sorry because I just realised how poorly I explained that second half. What I meant to say is that I can’t open a zipped file, so that I open another folder where the specific contents are. I can’t extract the things inside the zip folder to see the specifc OBJ or 3ds file. If I double click it, blender will open to the default screen and that’s it.
I just need to know how to get the model I downloaded properly imported and none of the guides I’ve found so far seem to work for me.
