Hi there,

I have found some blender animation files that I have used to create my own personal home theater introduction screen, like this;

I have been searching for a day or two now to find out the process of importing an .avi file and manipulating it in Blender. Is this even possible? Does something like this have to be created from scratch? OR can I import the frame by frame JPEG’s and then render them from Blender?

I’ve tried searching on movie import, avi, etc, but there doesn’t seem to be any posts, which leads me to believe this must be created from scratch.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to help with this? I want to do up some more personalized movie intros to place on my home projector as a startup screen.

there are two ways for editing/manipulating avi files in Blender. The VideoSequenceEditor and the Compositor. See the User Manual; each of these has a whole chapter devoted to it, along with Tutorials.
