do not argue, because I don’t know…I know that after its application began a serious confrontation
You are just making broader assumptions in order to confirm a bias you may have. Its probably easier for you to say, target andrew price rather than Ton right?
The source for this current dialog involving UI stems from this: http://code.blender.org/index.php/2013/06/blender-roadmap-2-7-2-8-and-beyond/ Dont forget to read the comments section. Discussion about how to improve the UI has been ongoing for quite some time. With open source projects, expect change, sometimes more radical, otherwise going commercial might be more wise.

SaintHaven, that’s enough.
Very insulting, to all of us
I hope moderators are reading it.
michalis, I give my thoughts…I think I have the right… If necessary, and a Ton in the face to say that I don’t like in the development of Blender
How is it insulting to “all of us”? What is constructive about continuously trying to turn Andrew Price into the devil? or imply that he is the sole one responsible for the change in UI? or that people cannot agree on UI changes?
Whats insulting is that some are trying to turn A Price into the devil just because he tried to contribute to an already ongoing discussion which Old_demon is obviously not aware was already taking place.
No wonder the developers dont give much attention to these forums. Its full of emotion and extremities.
your tone is very proud and arrogant… See what happens when people realize that their stupid fool
Everyone, I’m just a few replies from locking this thread. Let’s drop the bickering, get back to constructive discussion (leave personal attacks out of it. Period.). Otherwise I’ll lock this.
Keep in mind, there’s many different cultures and languages represented here, it’s very easy to misinterpret what people say. Let’s not jump to conclusions and start fighting over nothing.
That’s right. To Satanists it might actually be a compliment to say that you’re making someone out to be the devil! :RocknRoll:
Incidentally the new button-y look for the tabs is perfect and fits in much more nicely with Blender’s style.
I definitely hope that tabs will be dissociated from the region background color because enabling transparency makes the tabs really hard t read. They really should have their own section in the themes.
The lowercase is the biggest readability problem. Consider uppercase or Smallcaps, and definitely if vertical text is used caps will be preferred.
The region background color is something I’m looking to resolve. My hope is to simply add theme options specific to the tabs.
For anyone that is interested I have continued flushing out my original tab proposal to work at addressing concerns people have with the current implementation. I am also working to answer questions about additional features (like icon support, custom tabs, etc).
Yup. That´s what I´m rocking. The new tweaks to the toolbar has made the tabs way more readable.
I Agree…
It looks good, the buttony look is important and well done. (I would like to see this looking on the older UI, with “my” proposal on shortcuts).
I would like to see it working under properties or N panel too.
I hope you have test it already.
Because if this won’t happen everywhere better get rid of it.
The t panel after all is almost useless, it is useful for the addons only.
SaintHaven, how you think: inscriptions hot keys are needed in buttons too?
On zbrush, I like when I can take a tool and place it where I want. In blender if we can take a tool of a tab and place the tool in a custom tab, it will be really powerfull.
If we can make custom menu like that, it will be terrible !
But it’s not the point at this time.
Great job with the T pannel
The MODO screen that you showed looks exactly like Blender does in quad view, in fact I had to expand it and look at the icons to see that it was not… Of course you might just be saying you want the tabs on the right…
I hope that Blender does not get dismissed as a MODO clone just because of the similar look.
It wont, and even if it did, I would take that as a compliment. Already, the 3d cursor is very similar to how Modo works with its action center workflow, but what I have seen a lot of artist struggle with when moving from 3ds max to say modo, is that it doesnt rely on modifier stacks. This is where Blender is different. Blender has taken the modifier stack approach from 3DS Max, and includes it with something like Modo’s action center via 3d cursor. Blender cant be seen as a clone, but it can be seen as an app that is able to learn and adopt smart design choices so that it can be come the best app available (not saying it is or isnt).
I seriously hope you’re also not subscribing to the idea that if Blender did something ‘first’ and a commercial company created something very similar to their app., that it’s time to change it for the sake of changing it so it’s different.
Simply put, there’s no way Blender can’t do everything differently, every other app. save for Animation Master uses polygons for their modeling systems for instance, should Blender drop polygonal modeling for some completely alien 3D data system (it would make Blender different)?
