Hello,
Is there a way to convert a blender game to something playable
on a Playstation one (or any console emulator) ?
I remember that Blender was a development solution for NeoGeo games
or something like that. I am wrong ?

NeoGeo was the original Blender company name more than a few years back, even before it was NaN. But it wasn’t NeoGeo the console/arcade game company… that was a different beast. It would take quite a bit of coding to get something running on the PS1 or PS2. I doubt that it will be something that happens any day soon.
actually u can do it. You will need to buy a console development kit, i know the gameboy advance kit is $7 000, and PS2 is $10 000(american i think) so unless u got that kind of money i woulnd do it. I dont have the cost for the PSX but im guessing its about 5k american.
Thanks for your precisions plunneberg.
According to my fisrt question, i know there’s a “free” development kit for the PS1 named “not yarooze” (different from net yarooze the commercial one).
I don’t want to make games for the PS1 or 2 or another console.
I had a dream of some kind of translator/player to be able to play
blender games on a console and/or emulator.
Is there a super coder in the assistance ?
Well, to play blender games directly on PSX you would have to port the game player to that specific platform. This means a lot of work, I’m pretty sure - and I haven’t looked at PSX yet. Another option would be exporting the data (meshes and stuff) to an existing PSX game engine - I don’t think there is a free one, so most possibly you would have to pay a lot more than those 5,000-10,000 USD to use it. The third possibility is a mix between the first and the second option: Making your own engine and exporting the data to that new engine.

You will need more than one! That’s no quick hack!
I’ve been wondering about this myself… I don’t have playstation, but platforms are so much more popular than PCs right now for games, I just kind of wanted to catch up. But 10 grand?
:(WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

There is a cheaper solution to the PS2 developer kit, that gives you more control.
1 Buy a PS2, then buy a PS2 Linux kit. This then gives you more control over the PS2 than the official PS2 developer kit. (Sony don’t want you to play with certain bits, but using the Linux kit it’s possible!)
Using this system you can write/convert games. But if you want to port directly from Blender, I’m in the process of testing this as I now have Blender 2.27 for my PS2.
If you know the format of the console, PSX is .RAW, PS2 is .ELF, unsure of XBox/GCube. All the neccesary development tips are available from Sony’s Playstation websites, in the Developer sections.
Check my thread in the News and Chat forum, ‘Is anyone using Blender on the PS2 yet?’ for more useful links.
Sonix.
there are plenty of open -source SDKs too. Like there is one for xbox called XDK
I aslo just modded my xbox and i am going to run xboxlinux on it and run Blender
