Have fun Blending.

Thanks for the help, guys. I have a couple more questions. I want to buy a book on Blender. I really like The Blender Book, but it is for the older version of Blender. Should I get that or the official guide? Also, can animated Blender files be converted to Flash?
The Blender 2.0 guide will give you everything you need to know. Not much has really changed since that was published. At least it will give you the basics and you can improve from there.

if you have nervs enough to wait, there might be some update on manuals that are out of date And print, maybe to the autumn…cause it is hard to get hands on the Blender 2.0 Guide
so, either try to use current tutes, and also, check the Docs

Good luck!
Welcome welcome! These guys are suggesting doing alot of tutorials because they are WISE !! Learn by doing is best way to get ahead in Blender.
Just start off slow, do ALOT of modelling and get a good feel for the interface before you jump into the heavy stuff like 3rd party rendering, animation, games etc, python scripts.
Not preaching here, it’s just that I did the opposite and it smacked me in the face hard, lol. Trust me on this.
Edit: Who here can say they once knew how to get raytraced reflective surfaces, refracted w/caustics in multiple colors… but couldn’t bevel a cube if his life depended on it? Get’s ugly I tell ya, hehe.
Thanks for the link to the docs, ztonzy!

Actually, modelling is about all I want to do. I also want to learn how to make spinning stuff in to .swf files, but that can wait
