Hey!
I just recently started using blender and am having difficulties of when i go to object mode and add another object(i alredy have a cube up) nothing happens…would this have anything to do with the fact that im using a mac os x?

You may have accidentally switched to Local view. Click on the View menu and make sure you have Global view selected.
