I have a make human model I’ve imported and fixed all the stuff MH got wrong.
Anyway she’s a character for a teen/kid game I want to make but I cannot even get off the ground.
Lets start with me being a newb.
I have spent countless hours watching tutorials on vimeo and youtube and most of it answers my questions.
Here’s the problem.
I’m using 2.71 and none of the tutorials seem to address recording animation w/physics to keyframes so I can export the model in dea format and use it in an iOS scenekit game.
I attempted to bake the animation but that results in an unusable mess in scenekit.
So I started over, applied cloth physics to the clothes, made a little drop cycle (she doesn’t die she just drops to her knees and shakes her head) and I ran the animation so it would figure out all the physics etc.
Now supposedly I change to the blender game setting and go to the game menu and choose record animation.
Then in the action editor if I understand I should have a new empty action and then just press ‘P’ in the 3d window.
Ok check check and check.
Except I press ‘P’ the model looses around 80% of it’s clothing and although I show that blender is doing something in the Activity monitor and it warms the computer up enough for the fans to spin up, nothing happens. If I hit escape no animation exists, nothings changed and if I export the model the skeleton’s animation works but of course non of the physics do. Thus failure.
So I may have missed it, or I simply do not understand it if I saw it in one of the many 2.6 and below tutorials, but how does one, using 2.71, record an animation complete with physics to keyframes, so that I can export it for use elsewere.
I know this is a newb question so I’m sorry if it’s answered and I simply missed the answer or did not understand what I was seeing.
Thanks,
April.
