Newbie Questions

Hi, I am pretty new at Blender and I have a couple of questions:

  1. I have a sign that I imported from an SVG file. I animated it using IPO curves.

Now I want to apply those exact same settings to a new sign ( I need to make 6 different signs, with the same movement). I read about copy and pasting to and from the buffer, but this doesn’t seem to work for me. The only thing I need to copy are the loc, scale, rotation.

  1. So as I don’t know how to do this, I thought about making a lattice and making it a parent to the signs, so I I just delete one sign and make it a parent to a new sign. But I can’t figure out how to change the center of the lattice. I know how to do it with other objects, but I don’t see an option to do this to the lattice.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

welcome to Blenderartists!
not sure what you mean about the lattice, but i should be able to help with 1.:
select the second object that you want to copy the IPO to.
change to an IPO curve editor window. on the header of the window should be an arrow that when clicked shows a drop down list box. in that list are all the ipos you have created.
select the name of the ipo of the original object, the sign or whatever it was. the default name is ObIpo.
and that should link your second sign to the first signs ipo.
if anything is unclear, feel free to ask!
