[Newbie] Reduce mesh's deformation

Hi everyone. I’ve just learned how to add bones and this is a new thing for me
How can I avoid this ?

What your looking at is problems with the vertex weighting…
Select the model mesh > tab into edit mode > set edit mode to ‘vertex select’ (see on box icons on bottom tool bar)…
Then select the offending vertcie to see what bone(s) are influncing it…
Once selected (while… and only while… you are in edit mode) you should see a ‘Vertex Groups’ box in the 3D window’s left tool bar (hit ‘N’ if you don’t currently have it up)

You may also want to set the Armature to ‘Use modifier while in edit mode’…
which you can find in the Armature modifier box… it’s icon looks like a box with 4 dots on it…

Also to aid in changing the bone influnces on each vertice… you might want to have the “Vertex Groups” window open under the Object Data…
Goto… Properties Panel > Object Data(Triangle Icon) > Vertex Groups…

There you can see all the vertex groups you have created each of these should be named for each bone checked as ‘deformation’ in your Armature…
If you have double named vertex groups somethings a-miss… if not your okay and can simply assign and remove vertice from each group by hand…

This is way I do this when I’m at this stage of a model…

however you can also use the Weight paint method… but that’s a little less strait forward…
