Next marker/ prev marker jump

Hi,
To cut a long story short I need to be able to skip to the next/prev marker in the timeline with a hotkey, I have looked it up and apparently the key is pgup/pgdown but I cannot get this to work. I am using 2.62,
Any ideas,
TS

EDIT:
after a bit more googling I found this: (a life saver (credit goes to batfinger))

import bpy
from bpy.props import IntProperty

class SimpleOperator(bpy.types.Operator):
    '''Go to marker'''
    bl_idname = "anim.frame_to_marker"
    bl_label = "Go to Marker"
    direction = IntProperty(default=1)
    @classmethod
    def poll(cls, context):
        return context.active_object is not None

    def execute(self, context):
        scene = context.scene
        frame = scene.frame_current
        if self.direction > 0:
            timemarkers = [marker.frame for marker in scene.timeline_markers if marker.frame > frame]

            if len(timemarkers):
                scene.frame_set(min(timemarkers))
        if self.direction < 0:
            timemarkers = [marker.frame for marker in scene.timeline_markers if marker.frame > frame]
            if len(timemarkers):
                scene.frame_set(max(timemarkers))

        return {'FINISHED'}

def register():
    bpy.utils.register_class(SimpleOperator)
    wm = bpy.context.window_manager
    kc = wm.keyconfigs.addon
    if kc:
        km = kc.keymaps.new(name='3D View', space_type='VIEW_3D')
        kmi = km.keymap_items.new('anim.frame_to_marker', 'J', 'PRESS')

def unregister():
    bpy.utils.unregister_class(SimpleOperator)

if __name__ == "__main__":
    register()

    # test call
    # goes to the next marker forwards
    # use in UI like this
    # layout.operator("anim.frame_to_marker",icon="NEXT").direction=1
    bpy.ops.anim.frame_to_marker(direction=1)

yeah - I originally asked for this, and the script works great. I think it’s a great and pretty obvious boost for convenient timeline navigation, so it’s a weird gap in the defaults

Would be great to choose from a list of named keyframes instead of next prev too.

I agree, how something like this was missed out is bizarre… Maybe there is some other undiscovered way of doing it :stuck_out_tongue:

(my 200th post… Call me childish…)

There has been a recent comit regarding markers but I don’t know to what effect.
