nGon basic Problem (>5 Edges)

If you mean “should I have so many edges meeting at one single vertex?” then the answer is maybe.

It might be better for you to delete the edge joining the two triangles in the top-left corner, then select the the remaining edges they left behind and fill it with a quad. The number of edges meeting at a vertex is not so much the issue as it is having a mix of triangles and quads in the same model.

the reason is, that i sometimes see the triangles highlighted in the final render. i checked normals, but still, sometimes…
