I have this stupid little idea that, in the last shot, this little hook drops down from the ceiling. Nick throws the rope, and it magically catches it, and entirely without explanation the rope magically stretches so that it actually clears his head. And he celebrates.

This animation really made me smile! The idea of a giraffe trying to jump rope is not only funny but also a clever metaphor. It’s amusing to think that, with such a long neck, the giraffe can’t actually rotate the rope, which shows that repeating the same task without strategy won’t lead to progress. This reminds me that learning Blender, or anything else, isn’t just about daily practice but also about solving complex problems and learning from professionals. It’s important to make progress step by step, like doing morning exercises — consistent, thoughtful practice is the key. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love this! What a clever idea! I have a project involving a jump rope, but I have no clue how to animate it. Do you have any pointers or resources I can look at?

Thank you^^ Maybe Pierick Picaut’s this tutorial would help you somehow

But I did it in very simple way. it’s just a curve with 7 points , I hooked every point to empties , and then make the empties childs of 7 bones, so I could animate them in armature level.

Every time I see this “silly little thing,” I chuckle all over again. Which obviously says what others have recognized and honored – it is good! The whole idea is delightfully absurd, and the rendering and execution is solid throughout.
