does anyone know of a good lighting set-up for a landscape at night?
Yes, quite easy, render it as if it was bright day and tonemap it to night in postpro, maybe compo to a HDR image 
Just make sure to have rather hard shadows and not too much ambient light, else you’ll have a hard time.
don’t know what you mean by tonemap. This is an animation sequence by the way.
Use the compositor and use tone mapping and color balance nodes to bring down the reds and bring up the blues and purples. And, of course, the sky itself makes a huge impact on the perception of a night scene. Most night scenes take a lot of artistic license, because if you lit it realistically there wouldn’t be much to see.
