NLA Editor not saving tracks

Hi, I’ve been working with Blender for quite a while now but only recently started using the NLA Editor. I get how most of it works, but there’s something happening that has me stumped. I have a linked character with a keying set and some action constraints on the rig. These action constraints show up on the NLA editor as [Action Stashed]. I get that, no problem. The problem I’m having is when I create an action strip or two, then save the file, when I close down and re-open the file, those action strips I created have now been overwritten by some of the action constraints. The track is there, but the strip is now the action constraint. Is this something to do with library overrides?

For anyone interested, after a bit of searching I found that this is a known issue. It’s to do with drivers and linked data. There’s a thread about it here https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/issues/72629

The solution I found is to select the rig, go to Object>Relations>Make Local>All. Problem solved.

Delete the action from your rig on the main file before loading the linked file. If a rig in the main file has an action, it will replace your linked rig’s actions.
