no 3D sound in blender game engine

I want to have 3d sound in my game but there is no 3d sound button in the the sound block.
Am i doing something wrong?

The 2.4x sound system was always buggy at best. A lot of people used pygame, or some other external library, for sound. 2.5 has a new sound system for the BGE, and as far as I know it supports 3D sound. If you aren’t too far into your project, I recommend switching to 2.5. It has a lot of new features to offer BGE users.
