okay-
I’ve been using Blender 2.37 on Mac G5 dual 2.0 OS 10.39 quite happily for a while. Just downloaded 2.41, unstuffed it into apps, clicked to open…
nothing. No Blender launch.
Trashed it, re-downloaded, repeated process again and again…nothing. GE Force FX 5200 Card, NVDA, Display-B.
Do I need a regressed file for an upgrade? Blender 2.4 in order to get to 2.41?
What am I missing here? Any ideas? :o
Did you fully uninstall/delete the previous version? Are you using the same shortcut?
Full delete and no remaining files that I can find on the disk. Reinstalled 2X. No luck.
Downloaded from US Server, unstuffed in apps, looks like full package, double click on Blender icon…nada.
Delete. Empty trash.
check libraries, preferences, system…no remaining files.
repeat. nada.
???
Python 2.4? Though I am not sure how that works on Mac or if it’s a requirement for those releases, but it seems so…
will check on the python shortly…
there’s no “upgrading” blender…you can have as many versions of blender on your system living in harmony…as long as they either have different file names, or exist in different folders (not neessarily in Applications). My guess is the python. http://undefined.org/python/
[to “upgrade” Yafray, on the other hand, it needs to be completely uninstalled since it is a package and leaves an install receipt in your system (use OSXPM to uninstall apps).]
