No Mist button not working in BGE

Hi everyone, I have a scene in the game engine that involves a simple landscape, and a skybox. Everything works fine, except the edges of the landscape are plainly visible. Because of this, I added some mist, which looks great, but I don’t want mist on the skybox (obviously) So I selected the no mist button on the skybox in order to make it be completely opaque even though it’s further away than the landscape. For some reason, it is still covered by the mist, and the button has no effect. This is all in 2.49b. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution for it? Another button I have to push?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

I think the no mist button is for render only.
You can place your skybox in a background scene. But you need to synchronize the camera positions. There was a similar discussion some weeks ago (regarding skybox in background scene).

Just a warning: Mist always fade into background color. It does not fade into transparency or background picture (maybe not in GLSL mode). That makes the faded objects look quite ugly.

I’m also curious about this myself. The ‘no mist’ button should have it’s use in the BGE, but clicking it isn’t working for me either.

In this ‘Yo Frankie’ demo… around 1:35, it’s mentioned that the ‘no mist’ button should keep that material unaffected by mist.
