Hi, the material editor the nodes are not visible. “Find Node” and “View Selected” still no not make the nodes visible. This needs to be fixed asap. As soon as you select an object with a material the nodes “Should” be front and centre in the node editor.
that is vague can you elaborate a little more!
or do you want us to read your mind ?
are you on material or world nodes ?
got a file to check it ?
did you use material nodes or not ?
is it in cycles and 2.8 or else ?
happy bl
Thanks Ricky,
Material nodes
Blender 2.8
I found hitting . period on numbed focuses the nodes (makes them visible). but IMO you shouldn’t have to look for this they should be visible by default.
Well if your nodes are not in the frame they’re just not in the frame, where are you going with this ?
All I’m saying is it’s problematic having to search for the nodes. As soon as you select an object with a material the nodes “Should” be front and centre (visible) in the node editor. Something that may be helpful in future releases.
Alright, fair enough. I never encountered this problem personally, but I’m sure an “auto frame” option is reasonable. For it to make sense though, we’d have to decide which nodes to frame, in case the node tree is large. (One of) the output node maybe ?
seen that often in 2.79
but you can always click on home and it should bring it in center of viewport
but look in mat panel it will tell you if there is one nodes set up
happy cl
I would prefer that each material remember the state of its visualization.
The main problem comes when you are working on a very large material, and you change to another material or object, since the view remains in the last position you were.
And an “auto frame” I think would also bring problems, since you would quickly lose sight of the node you were working on, if you switch between objects or materials. But it’s always good to have the option I guess.
I would prefer that each material remember the state of its visualization.
Now this I like better !
