Hi, sorry for so many questions that I can’t explain well, hopefully this one is easy, and thanks for all the help so far.
In blender 2.4, you could make a non-proportional loop cut by pressing P while positioning the loop, and pressing F to choose which edge to use (see Non-Proportional Loopcut). Is there any way to achieve this in blender 2.6?
Also, given the number of tools I’ve found missing in 2.6, I can’t imagine everybody’s just living without–is it safe to open a Blender 2.6 file in Blender 2.4 to do the necessary loop management, and then continuing to edit in 2.6?

Doesn’t seem like 2.6 has this. And I can’t think of a tool with similar results atm. Though I can live without it, I definitely see the benefits.
If it’s modeling only, going back and forth from different blender versions is definitely not an issue.
Hopefully when Bmesh is finalized the old modeling tools will find their way back in 2.6+
