non quad/tri elements won't render

I recently imported a vrml file (containing both quads/tri elements and simple lines) into Blender and it looked fine in the workspace, but when I rendered it, only the quad and tri elements were visible. Is there a way to also render the non-quad/tri elements such as lines?

Here is the workspace pic:

Generally an object needs faces to render. You can however, give the object a material and set that material to Wire and it will render.

Thanks for your help, I’ll give that a try!

Lines don’t have volume from a mathematical standpoint so they do not showup when you render.
Try the solidify script to actually give the lines volume.
