Hi all,
I’ve downloaded some .max files from Turbosquid and am trying to import them into blender. All the references to import scripts I can find only refer to .3ds files. Is there a way to import the .max files directly?

Hello
Quick answer from a Blender user
The max format saves all the entire scene and settings
The 3ds format saves one object ( with one or many meshes) geometry, UV materials and mesh deformation (animation)
Probably, you’ll never get Blender to open a (complete) max file
Bye
…I was about to spend another $45 for a .max file… :-? but there are plenty of 3ds files to spend it on too
so thanks for the quick reply
