Noob need to load and run a Python script.

I have a 2.5 Beta Blender and was given a lightmapping python script.
I have no idea how to install and run it and … ( sorry folks ) no interest in learning as I am a graphic artist and any coding hurts my brain. I am still getting lost in Blitz basic after more than five years. So, is there a tutorial anywhere or can some kind person help out an old pensioner to “throw some light” on this problem?

I understand this:

  • You have program blender 2.5 beta
  • You have a python script designed to run in blender 2.5 beta
  • You don’t know how you must to run it in blender

If it is an addon you must place it in a folder called addon /scripts/addon

If it is not an addon you must go to the text editor in blender, load there the script using the menu open option and then click the button Run Script.

Now I can play with it and see if it works ( and how ) cause there are a lot of controls.
