What is “multires?”
I believe its 3ds max’s version of subsurfaces. I could be wrong though.
Multires is a way of treating a mesh as though it is subdivided at a higher or lower resolution depending on your needs. I think it’s mostly useful for doing displacement painting (sculpt mode) as if your mesh was more highly subdivided than it really is. It’s being developed alongside sculpt mode.
