Good for a beginner, and you certainly have a good idea of how to start and progress, I have known people start using blender, and the first model they have tried to make is something like a ferrari or a tank etc. You have the right idea in starting slow and moving up, if I had to give any advice it would just to be taking it slow, if I were you I would try doing a wine cellar next, as you have some nice, yet simple principles, such as barrels, crates and bottles. You can also have some fun with materials if you want.

Thanks for the feedback the squidifier.I will make your wine cellar suggestion my next Blender. i’ll start Monday and hopefully have it finished for posting within a week.
