Normal Direction Issue

Hi, I was just modeling a low-poly object, starting from a plane and then cutting and modifying the geometry. The normals seem to be calculated incorrectly, have a look:

I’ve painted the normals that I would expect in green. Does anyone know why is this happening?:eek:

I’m guessing you have scaled the object along the x-axis in object mode, which makes the normals to mess up. To fix it, apply the scale by going to object mode and pressing ‘ctrl + a’ and select ‘apply scale…’

And if that is not it, you can also use ctrl n to recalculate normals on the selected faces.

Applying Scale from Ctrl-A menu fixed the problem - even though I’m not sure how. Thanks!
