Hello!
I’ve been having an issue where I’m unable to combine normal and displacement maps. Whenever I add my normal map in, it cancels out any displacement map effect. What am I doing wrong?
I started with the displacement map first that I got from Mari. The only reason I have a normal map is because the feedback I got was that model requires more secondary form so I added more sculpting details on a low poly model and baked the normal map for the high poly.

could you please share your file (don’t share the whole face, just a part of the mesh)?

seems like adaptive subdivision is not good with normal map and displacements combined.

hmm i removed adaptive subdivision and even changed the feature set back to supported but the normal map still cancels out the displacement map

it looks like it’s a problem of Normal Map’s strength, decrease it to 0.1, the displacement comes back, don’t know why though

I realised that too but the effect of the normal map is also basically gone. Haha I’m just very confused.

works for me. you have to increase subdiv level and material setting = displacement only

or as you probably don’t need real displacement (which will make the object heavier) you could simply cumulate Normal and Bump this way:

it makes sense for the Subsurf, but it’s still weird, why Displacement + Bump doesn’t show up?
