Hi, I can’t figure out what’s going on with the normal map at all. After scaling is applied to the object, the effect of the normal map disappears completely. I have already tried to recalculate the normals via Mesh → Normals → Recalculate Outside, but nothing worked. And to make it at least visible, i have to set the Strength to 4-5
Welcome! How did the scaling look like before you applied it? If the plane was scaled vertically, which you wouldn’t be able to see visually, it could have made the normal map artificially stronger. If that’s the case, it tells me the normal map is probably very faint. You would need to boost the strength and that’s completely fine.
Thank you for your response. I created maps for this texture using the Materialize program, and everything looks perfect there, including normals and roughness. However, when I use them in Blender, the effect is only visible at high strength values. I expected the default Strength value to produce a consistent material appearance, allowing adjustments as needed. But it seems there’s something unclear here. Regarding the scale, it turns out that changing the scale somehow alters the strength of the normal.
