Normal maps don't work right

Hey guys, I can’t seem to get normal maps to work correctly. Here’s what I mean:

Here’s my normal map:

Here’s the problem:

Figure 1: How the normal map shows up on the low poly
Figure 2: The low poly
Figure 3: The high poly

I have no idea what I’m doing wrong, I’ve tried this different ways and it still looks awful every time.

Upload your blend file to http://www.pasteall.org/blend/ and tell us the download link

Did you follow the tutorial to the letter ? If not why not ?
Remove double vertices (W / remove doubles)
Check your face normals (Ctrl+N)
Check your UVs, looks like you have some overlapping
You don’t actually show us your material or texture settings or even which renderer you are using. Don’t be afraid to tell us

I don’t really want to post the blend file since it’s for a game I’m helping with but okay, here you go: http://www.pasteall.org/blend/26922

I followed the tutorial exactly.

I don’t see any overlapping in the UVs, since I used Smart UV project.

I hate to sound impatient but I really wish you guys would approve my posts quicker, it’s been quite awhile. I’m kind of trying to get to work on this game and I’m sitting here doing nothing because I can’t finish this model until I figure out how to get normal maps working.

Try this on the normal map texture:

On future blend posts be sure to pack your textures. File, external data, ‘pack all into blend’
On texture issues, an unpacked blend isn’t much help. Fortunately you had posted the normal map on the top post, so I could use it.

in your normal map - tangent space; you have something strange - a green/red area - this problem exist when you try baking normal with wrong distance between target and baked object,
for example - bottom left area in your map looks fine
in my workflow I also have some problem with wrong green channel, try to flip Green Channel in photoshop - for me in few cases this help
