Normal maps

Hi Blender artist,
I have been trying to bake a normal map but all my work only yields these terrible looking results,

45%20PM

help me please!

Looks like and inverted normal issue on your scales

so I fixed it to where the pattern on the normal map is now good normal map color:) however the plane underneath it is now displaying the weird ones?

We have no idea how you attempt to do it, so it’s impossible to guess how to try to help you.
But the top of your twill should have the same blue’ish color as your background rectangle.
I have no problem getting the expected result using procedural setup. I’m not experienced with baking though.

Please show us how you get your result and we might be able to show you how you get a better result.

Did you try to set the ray distance to a value other than 0?

here are the settings used to bake:)
thanks for helping!

Select the plane in edit mode and ctrl F then flip.
Mark solved post if it s ok

this sort of worked…
I did as you said but then instead of baking the top of the plane it baked the bottom ending up not what I wanted.
I’m going to try and flip the axis round and such in the baking tabs but we will just have to see.
