When I bake either normals or displacement map they’re super flat. The displacement map is completely white, in the normals image are visible changes in shading and color although when applied details are flat as well.
just how are you saving the displacement ?
as a *.exr?
exr’s are 32 bit float and can really have ANY!! value ( almost) such as 123456.12345678
now gimp and photoshop REQUIRE!!! all float values to be 0.0000000 to 1.000000

i use Nip2 a gui to the vips image processing library
it handles ALL of the values in a floating point image
I really don’t know. I was following a guide on youtube and there was no mention of file format. Maybe should check the rendering settings. Which format is best for this kind of things?
