normals issue

What would be the best way to correct normals issue with my house model?

I just wanted some tips on how to correct the normals efficiently. So it won’t take as much time.

With the Blend4Web addon you can edit normals.

This is more of a modelling question.

I simply make sure my normals are correct while I’m making the model. Experience tells me how blender will place the normal on created/extruded faces, and a lot of time can be saved by making them be correct the first time around. (for example if one faces normal is flipped and you extrude it, all the resulting faces will have the normals facing the wrong way).

Other useful things to know are how the recalculate normal tool works. It looks at nearby faces as well as the free-space distance behind and in-front and the face in that direction to figure out what way it should face. It sometimes get’s it wrong and being able to predict these is useful.

But I cannot think of a way of imparting that experience.

So here are a few more concrete tips:
Turn on normal visualization when modelling:

Enable backface culling in the viewport:

If you have to flip a lot of normals, don’t rely on the ‘recalc normals’ method. Select the incorrect ones only (using tools like circle-select and box-select) and flip them directly with ‘flip normals.’
