made this one in blender, no other applications included, cycles, simple ocean modifier which was then scattered across a plane on its vertices using particle instancing, ice mountains: displacement with a cloud map on it, volume scatter as atmospherics.
the mountains dont feel right. I can’t pin point exactly what so I would advice to take a look at a reference image. The one thing I find strange is that we can see several highlight areas, I would assume the shadow part to be more uniform because of the distance, also I would advice a small haze over the edge of the horizon of the water to add depth to it.
thanx for fast replies! i agree Kilon, i didnt put much time on the mountains though, and i too find it strange the little higlighted island to the left, has to be some distance confusement, but cycles is a physical correct render, and i didnt set any shadow or ray overide besides the ocean to cast shadow on the seabottom
